We have opened a dedicated mountain bike trail area within a 15 acre wooded section of the estate. It's pretty hilly and technical in places but there's enough for beginners to give it go too. Day permits for use will be needed, at £1 for residents, £2 for day visitors, 1/2 this price for under 16's - available from reception 8.30 - 1700. We have recently extended the course right around our perimeter, adding nearly 2km to the route. Please click here for a map of the trails and here for a user guide . We hosted a series of introductory mountain bike off-road skills weekends in conjunction with the the national body for cycling, the CTC - and we are holding more in 2008, for more information and to book directly with the CTC, please CLICK HERE.

In 2005 we opened our first 3 NEW 6 berth self-catering log cabins followed by a fourth in 2007 for all groups to use. These are to replace our older caravans and look fantastic - do call us for booking details. We are due to open the final guest cabin in May 2008, which will be 12 berth and fully accessible for disabled users. We have plenty more upgrade projects to do so please click on the fundraising button on the left of this page if you can help.

We have been invaded by 3 Kiwi GAP students this year who are coming to clean toilets...., sorry we mean work, for us for the 2008 season. As long as their work skills are better than their rugby & cricket skills we'll be okay. For groups staying full-board in our main house, we now have a computer wireless network.

Like many places you might visit, demand and prices are usually high from around Easter to the end of the school summer holidays, but have you thought about booking a visit to us from September to early March? We can offer much better prices and often do special offers, not just in the winter but also for things like staying over an extra night on Sundays to make a long weekend of your visit.
