Mountain Biking

An exciting project that we hope will also be completed by the end of March is the cycle pump track which will be freely used by the local community.  Having seen the work in progress first hand, the track will entice all mountain biking fanatics giving our cycle tracks a more challenging and exhilarating experience for all abilities.  We will still be keeping our more established bike tracks too which will be great if there are varying abilities within your family; watch this space...

At Avon Tyrrell, we have three purpose built Mountain Biking tracks taking you through the forest areas of site. Two tracks are approximately one kilometre long and looped and another 'black' loop that has a little more adventure to it. 

We also have a full loop that takes you around the site.  There is Mountain Biking available for every ability level from complete novice to expert riders.

Mountain Biking is accessible in a number of forms:

Pay and Play – bring your own bike and ride the courses. Purchase a ticket from reception and you can use the track all day as long as you have a helmet.

Guided Sessions – Avon Tyrrell offers guided skills sessions with qualified Mountain Bike instructors.

Residential Guests can hire bikes (up to 12 at a time). Please note, this MUST be arranged before your visit so that we can ensure there is a member of staff available to fit your bikes, sign them out and see them back in.
