A Sustainable Future
The aim of this day is to explore the global issue of sustainability. The day can also be delivered on a formal or non-formal basis according to the groups needs. During the day the group will consider various issues surrounding sustainable living and climate change.
The day starts with the group considering questions such as ‘what is climate change,’ ‘why is it important to look after the planet?’ and ‘what does sustainability mean?.’
Once these questions have been answered, the group will look at specific issues that affect them in their daily lives. These issues can include landfill, waste and recycling; energy, transport; building design and individual’s carbon footprints. Within each issue interactive discussions, activities and games are used to explore the problems and their solutions.
The day ends with a quiz show style game, reviewing the information discussed during the day and what the group can do at home.
