Traditional Fire Lighting
A good fire is well planned and there are four phases to making a fire that should be taken into account:
- Selecting the most suitable type of fire and its site
- Selecting and gathering of fuel and tinder
- Getting a spark
- Lighting the tinder and then keeping the fire going
All these phases will be considered during this introductory fire lighting session and groups will have the opportunity to create a spark using a variety of methods including a Swedish fire steel and friction fire lighting.
Groups will also be able to put their skills to use through the boiling of a Kelly Kettle and the creation of a campfire.
Session Time – 90 minutes
Group Size – Maximum of 1:6, although multiple groups can be booked.
