Our Main House

Avon Tyrrell was originally built in 1892 as a family home and after use during WW2 by the army the main house and its estate was donated in trust to UK Youth The Main House still contains much of the character associated with a house built around this time, but yet combines this with a practical environment, enabling groups of all ages and abilities to use this wonderful facility.

Groups are welcome to stay residentially and carry out their own activities, or choose from the wide variety of adventurous and environmental activities available on site.  For full details of our activity prices please check out the activities page of our website.  All residential guests receive a 15% discount on 2009 activity prices and we also provide discounted packages for large groups.

In addition to activities we also provide a variety of wifi enabled meeting rooms which can be used (subject to availability) free of charge during your stay, along with a fully licensed bar and games area.

Accessibility & Safety

To ensure this facility is accessible, the house is fitted with a lift, ramps and adapted bathrooms, our team of dedicated chefs are also able to cater for all special dietary requirements.

Safety is a high priority so the house is fitted with a state of the art fire safety system and we conform to all the latest health and safety standards.  On call  staff are also on duty throughout the day and night to offer support and emergency assistance should you require it.

Full details of our insurance certificates and risk assessments can be found by visiting the Information and Downloads section of our website.
