Junior Achievement Award
Avon Tyrrell Activity Centre is offering residential guests the opportunity to add value to their visit by taking part in the Junior Achievement Awards.
Outdoor education has long been recognised for its benefit to learning outside the classroom and by including the Junior Achievement Awards programme as part of your residential you will be recognising and accrediting this learning, as well as taking positive steps to meeting the Every Child Matters outcomes. The awards have been designed to develop self confidence and self esteem, enhance communication skills and encourage young people to take responsibility for their learning, making the Junior Achievement Award the national award scheme for young people aged 7-11.
The award has a peer educational approach and is made up of 5 x 3hour activity slots, so it fits perfectly around your residential stay as all the activities (both on and off site) can count towards the award.
The Junior Achievement Award is suitable for all academic levels as evidence can include; photographs, drawings, models, ticket stubs and much much more, so adding this to your programme will have minimal impact on your stay.
To complete the award we recommend 2 evening portfolio sessions, each lasting between 30 minutes to an hour depending on the size of your group. The sessions will be led by us so all you need to do is help provide the evidence.
Taking part in the Junior Achievement Award costs just £9 per person and costs include; all tutored sessions and a portfolio booklet and certificate for each young person taking part.
Recognise and reward personal and social development by including the Junior Achievement Award as part of your visit with us.
