We are delighted to announce the launch of our new Learning and Leadership Department.

This new initiative will provide a professional link to the education sector, both formal and non-formal, highlighting the high quality provision we offer and enhancing our learning resources to more effectively demonstrate the benefits of Outdoor Learning and the impact we have on young people.

Education Officer

We understand the benefits of Outdoor Education, and aim to provide opportunities for learning contexts beyond the classroom, adding breadth and depth to the National Curriculum.

The role of the Education Officer will be to engage with educational leaders and build and develop future relationships to further enhance the reputation of Avon Tyrrell as a centre of excellence for Outdoor Learning.

We would welcome your thoughts and comments on how we can best provide you with the support you need to ensure that every young person visiting Avon Tyrrell has the opportunity to ‘Experience Learn Develop’

Our Learning and Leadership department is also home to our Apprenticeship Programme which primarily, but not solely, provides high quality Outdoor Activity Apprenticeships, in partnership with Kingston Maurward College.

Outdoor Learning has been shown to benefit young people in many ways, including, but not limited to improving personal and social development, creativity, self-esteem and environmental ownership.

Our range of Curriculum linked adventure and field studies activities are delivered by qualified instructors, ensuring pupils are engaged and reaching your groups objectives.

At Avon Tyrrell we not only provide development opportunities for the groups that visit, but with 20% of our workforce undergoing and apprenticeship, we provide hands on learning and experiences for young people to help further develop their careers.
