Why is Avon Tyrrell unique? Set inside the New Forest National Park our location is wonderful and our staff, with their ‘can do’ attitude have the total belief that we should make every visit special.
We have the staff and equipment to enable you to participate in as many opportunities as possible, be it mountain biking on specialised bikes, climbing 10 metres up our climbing tower, canoeing on our lake or much much more.
For organised groups, we are happy to host a site tour prior to your visit, as experience has taught us that this is often the best way for us to fully understand the extent of what is needed for your visit and how we can support you throughout your stay, it also allows you to see first-hand what we have to offer and ensure you can enjoy and relax when you arrive.
Guests of all ages and abilities can enjoy the centre knowing that we are always here for support when you need us. From our Guest services team to our qualified instructors, if you have a question, just ask. Our staff are fully trained to support and can advise you where needed.

When we say the site is accessible, we mean it.
With a range of additional equipment to support various needs, you really can have a great experience, challenge yourselves and leave with a sense of achievement. The hoists and adapted equipment we have mean that you can zip wire across the lake, swing through the trees on high ropes, take part in tree climbing, shoot an arrow in archery or canoe across the water.
Whether you are mobility impaired, visually impaired, hearing impaired or have learning difficulties you can get involved as our activities can be differentiated in their delivery for varying abilities.

Getting around the site
Landeez All Terrain Wheelchair: Our All Terrain Wheelchair has large inflatable tyres and is perfect for a leisurely travel around the site.
Boma Wheelchairs: These electric wheelchairs can be used on all terrain and will allow users to freely access the entire site.
Tramper: These electric chairs can be used on all terrain and are more suitable for those that can support themselves when sitting upright.
Inclusion Bikes: Want to ride through the trees? We have a NEW accessible bike trail and inclusion bikes so you can take a casual ride around the grounds and explore for yourself.
The Trets Bike: These recumbent trikes are ideal for younger users with a support harness for extra comfort and security.
The Kettweisel Bike: Great for adults and taller users, these recumbent bikes have power assist and 3 levels of assistance when pedaling giving riders an extra boost when cycling uphill.

Portable Hoist Oxford Midi 170, Oxfor Midi 180 & Oxford Major 190: Portable hoists for use in the House or lodges.
Ceiling Hoist: Built in ceiling hoist that travels straight into the wet-room next door.
Locomotor Escort Hoist: Available for high lift in house and lodges
Changing Bed and Bed Sides: This can be used in the House or the larger lodges.
Shower Chair & Shower Trolley: Wheeled with brakes for use in wet rooms.

Pool/Lake Hoist Oxford Dipper 140: Assist users in and out of the lake or boats
Boathouse: Accessible changing & washing facilities
Sit on Tops: Provides support while keeping your legs free.
Praddle: One hand paddles
Aquabacs: Provide additional postural support for the kayaks.
