Working as part of a friendly staff team, we are seeking highly motivated and enthusiastic individuals with a passion for the outdoors and inspiring others to join our Apprenticeship Programme.

We believe in the value of apprenticeships as a way to offer hands on experience and gain a qualification whilst you work. Our apprenticeship programme is delivered in partnership with Kingston Maurward College ensure you receive the best support possible to build your career.
Previous Experience Not Required - With the support of our staff team you will, through a period of training and consolidation gain the skills and confidence to deliver high quality Outdoor Learning programmes to groups of all ages and abilities.
We pride ourselves on offering a high quality apprenticeship programme that ensures that you will leave Avon Tyrrell at the end of your apprenticeship with the skills and National Governing Body qualifications to build a strong future in the Outdoor Industry.
We tailor each Apprentice Programme to suit those successfully recruited, to ensure each person receives the support and guidance they need. All our most recent apprentices were offered the opportunity to attend these courses:
- Archery GB
- Foundation Safety and Rescue Training and UKCC Level 1 Coaching Paddle Sport
- National Pool Lifeguard Qualification
- ERCA Ropes Instructor
- First Aid at Work
As well as the opportunity to undertake training in house across all activities we offer here at Avon Tyrrell.

- Salary: £130 per week with opportunities ti live on or off site.
(Rent for apprentices wishing to live on site is reduced from £32.94 to £25 per week)
- Hours: Average 37.5 hours per week
- Benefits: 27 days annual leave + bank holidays
Applicants must be 18-25 years and cannot hold a graduate degree, they should have a passion for the outdoors and a flexible can do attitude.

Avon Tyrrell Outdoor Activity Centre provides outdoor learning opportunities and adventure activities to 22000 people each year. We are open 7 days a week and are fully operational 50 weeks of the year, so some evening and weekend work may be required.
