Our aim is to give everyone the same opportunities to Experience, Learn and Develop.

For this reason UK Youth offers a bursary programme for groups of young people to be able to access outdoor learning opportunities at Avon Tyrrell.

If you need assistance towards funding your visit, or for specific individuals within your group, please do apply and we will do all that we can to help you.

The money available in our bursary fluctuates month on month so sadly we are not able to say yes to every application or always offer the full amounts requested, but we always try and do all we can.

Feedback

"A huge thank you to you, all the staff and funders who so generously supported our morning at Avon Tyrell on Friday 4th Sept. Children had an amazing time and parents were delighted to see them get involved and blossom doing activities that they would not normally get a chance to do.  We kicked off with High Ropes and climbing which really bought the children together and working as a team. It was wonderful seeing them support and encourage each other across the highest of ropes and applaud each achievement no matter how large or small.

Next came the kayaking and canoeing which the children utterly loved doing. They got to spend a really good amount of time on the water and had such fun. Their skills improved before our eyes and it was fabulous to have the option to pair up in the canoes for the less confident paddlers. The parents were very impressed by the quality of instruction and care that was taken to ensure each child was safe. The sun came out and we all enjoyed the amazing setting and beauty of Avon Tyrell. We would love to plan a return visit next year and feel so much more confident that we could tackle some of the team building activities.

Thank you once again - a brilliant time was had by all and the children were so proud of what they achieved." New Forest Home Educated

Bursary Feedback

"I’m writing to show our appreciation to all the support that went in to organising  our visit. The instructors were warm, friendly and very accommodating, as were the guys 'on call’ that provided us with a wheel chair to aid a child with exploring the beautiful grounds. I would also like to say a special thanks for the generosity with awarding us the £1000 bursary. It was the first time we’ve managed to get the whole group together and seeing them all happy and fully involved was a real pleasure. Thank you."
