Canoeing and Kayaking is very popular. Join our qualified coaches on our stunning lake for an exciting, fun and challenging Canoeing and Kayaking sessions.
Looking for fun and games, coaching or team activities? We can adapt these sessions suitably – just be prepared to get wet!
Canoeing – Partner up in our 2 person canoes and paddle across the waters. With open tops you will learn traditional canoeing techniques and skills including the added buoyancy that comes with larger boats.
Kayaking – Take on the lake solo in our Piranha Master Kayaks, or tandem sit on tops which allow individuals to explore their own competency levels. Develop skills as you paddle forwards, backwards and sideways taking on new challenges.
Duration: 90 minutes for Canoeing and Kayaking

Restrictions
- Weight limit is restricted to 20 stone (130kg)
- Canoeing & Double Sit on Top Kayaking is suitable for 5+ years
- Kayaking is suitable for 8+ years
Recommendations:
- Closed toe shoes are a must for this activity
- Old Clothes that you don’t mind getting wet
- Weather appropriate clothing, be this your waterproof or sun hat and suncream.

Personal Challenge & Achievement: Individuals receive high levels of encouragement from our experienced instructors, so that they have the opportunity achieve their goals and develop their skills.
Support & Cohesion: By taking part in a shared experience, our lake sessions can improve group and leader familiarisation as individuals work closely together. Individuals are also encouraged to support one another both verbally and physically, so individuals can challenge themselves to their personal limits.
Fitness & Wellbeing: This activity by the nature of its physicality and location promotes an appreciation of the benefits of personal fitness and its importance for mental, emotional, social and physical wellbeing.
When incorporated as part of a development programme of activities, outdoor learning such as canoeing or kayaking can support increased attainment and develop character and soft skills all of which are key life skills. Individuals will be able to recognise their own achievements and individual progression, as well as have the opportunity to develop personal qualities such as self-reliance, perseverance, self-belief and increased levels of confidence.
