Apprentice Commis Chef
Join our Catering Department, and help us produce and serve quality food for our hungry guests. Responsible for assisting in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of food and supporting our food and beverage service. Based at Avon Tyrrell Outdoor Activity Centre set within the New Forest National Park.
We are looking for an enthusiastic apprentice with the ability to maintain a high level of product knowledge in order to produce a consistent product, the ability to take initiative and importantly show commitment to the charity and the scheme and our regulations.
You will be given the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a busy kitchen, cafe and dining room .
Varied duties will cover all aspects of kitchen operations to produce and serve quality food: Food prep, knife skills, cleaning to a high standard, maintaining kitchen equipment, stock handling, checking orders and general chef support.
Ability to work well in a team and communicate at all levels is essential.
Excellent communication skills will be needed to work within a high pressured service team, plus a sensible approach to hygiene, health and safety. Commitment and respect to one`s self, customers and colleagues is paramount with a pleasant and approachable attitude.
