Following the UK Government’s direction, UK Youth has now temporarily closed our Avon Tyrrell Outdoor Centre.

Wednesday 24th June 2020

Following the government update on Tuesday 23rd June, Avon Tyrrell will be able to reopen our doors from the 4th July. Unfortunately, we will not be ready for this date, however we will be open from Monday 6th July.

We will have a phased reopening and some facilities will remain closed until we can safely reopen them.

Initially, Camping, Lodges and some activity provision will be available, however we are yet to finalise the activities we can offer. We will be launching a full list of activities and facilities on Tuesday 30th June so please bear with us.

We do still only have a small team working through bookings and enquiries, so we apologise for any unusual delay in responses.

We want to thank you for your support and we hope to see you soon.

Wednesday 3rd June 2020

In line with recent government guidelines, Avon Tyrrell will remain closed until at least the end of June.

We are only cancelling bookings up to the end of June at this stage, as the government has provisionally proposed the 4th July as an opening date for accommodation services.

For those with bookings from the 4th July onward, we cannot accept cancellations for your bookings and you are still liable for cancellation costs as per our standard terms and conditions, should you wish to cancel.

As we do understand that you may not want to come away, or not be in a position to, we can move your booking with us to a new date in the future, up to 31st March 2021.

We will continue to operate in line with the government advice and hope that we will be able to open Avon Tyrrell again soon and when it is safe to do so.

All further updates will be added to our website, as well as Facebook and Twitter

Monday 11th May 2020

In line with the latest government update, Avon Tyrrell will remain closed until at least the end of May, however we will be looking at how the new guidance can help us begin to re-open the centre at the earliest opportunity so we can welcome our visitors back to enjoy the outdoors.

We are currently working through contacting those that have bookings in May to discuss options, including a full refund, credit or a transfer, but we do only have a small team working from home, so please do bear with us at this time.

Whilst the site has been closed, we have been working hard to ensure the centre remains in good condition and looking at how we can safely welcome you all back when we are able to re-open.

All further updates will be added to our website, as well as Facebook and Twitter

Tuesday 5th May 2020

Although we have not received further guidance on the duration of the lock down, we believe it is inevitable that this will be extended and are aware that we need to update our guests ahead of their planned visits.

For that reason, we have now made the decision to extend the temporary closure period of the centre to the 17th May, meaning as it now stands, we will aim to reopen on Monday 18th May unless we receive further government advice that is unsafe to do so.

We currently only have a very small team working from home who are contacting visitors with upcoming bookings, to offer advice and guidance on the possible options available.

Those with bookings from the 18th May onward, will hopefully still go ahead as planned and as it currently stands, our normal terms and conditions apply at this stage. If this changes, then we will be in touch to discuss further options available.

Friday 17 April 2020

In light of the HM Government announcement on Thursday, we have now extended the temporary closure period of the centre to the 7th May, meaning as it stands, we currently aim to reopen on Friday 8th May unless we receive further government advice that is unsafe to do so.

We currently only have a very small team working from home who are contacting visitors with upcoming bookings, to offer advice and guidance on the possible options available.

Those with booking up to the 7th May should expect to hear from us soon to receive a credit or refund for their booking. Those with bookings from the 8th May onwards, will hopefully still go ahead as planned and as it currently stands, our normal terms and conditions apply at this stage. If this changes, then we will be in touch to discuss further options available.

We are sure you can appreciate that these are difficult times, and we appreciate your understanding and patience as we manage bookings and queries as efficiently as we can.

We want to thank you for making your booking with us initially and we hope that we will be able to meet you in the near future when we are back open to the public.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to get in contact with us as we will always do our best to support our visitors.

Our email and phone lines are open Mon-Fri from 08:30-17:00.

All the best and take care
