Learning and Leadership Officer

Avon Tyrrell Outdoor Activity Centre is seeking a Learning & Leadership Officer to work within its Learning and Leadership department.

Set in a 65 acre estate in The New Forest National Park, Avon Tyrrell Outdoor Activity Centre is home to the charity UK Youth. As a leading outdoor learning centre, Avon Tyrrell is dedicated to providing opportunity and unlocking potential in young people through inclusive outdoor learning.

Your main responsibilities will be to use the stimulating locality of Avon Tyrrell and The New Forest National Park to manage, develop, deliver, monitor and evaluate our apprentice programme and high quality outdoor learning, with links to the National Curriculum.

You must share the ethos of learning and development through the promotion of experiential outdoor learning and ideally have experience and qualifications related to working with young people

Ideally you will have programme design and delivery skills plus you will have experience of or an interest in some or all of the following:

  • Outdoor Education
  • Wellbeing and welfare support
  • NVQ Assessing
  • Apprenticeships and Traineeships
  • The National Curriculum

Salary:  £18,000 to £21,000 pa (depending on experience)

Hours: Full Time, 37.5 hrs pw – flexibility required, some evening and weekend work will be essential in the undertaking of this role

Avon Tyrrell Outdoor Activity Centre provides outdoor learning opportunities and adventure activities to 22000 people each year.  We are open 7 days a week and are fully operational 50 weeks of the year, so some evening and weekend work may be required.
