Avon Tyrrell is part of the charity UK Youth.  As well as developing your own team, by selecting Avon Tyrrell as the venue for your next development event you will also be helping to support the work of the charity right across the UK.

About UK Youth

UK Youth have been working to better the lives of young people for over 100 years, and our experience is second to none.

Through our network of youth development organisations across the UK, we empower 729,694 young people to take control of their own lives with the support, encouragement and opportunities they need to help them reach their full potential and grow into confident, capable adults who lead fulfilling lives. In 2014/15 over 68,583 of these young people took part in our innovative programmes, gained accreditation or attended our outdoor learning centre at Avon Tyrrell.

Our Vision

Is for every young person to become a positive force for change in their own life, and the lives of others, whatever their background or circumstance.

In this way they will make a successful transition from childhood to adulthood with the capabilities they need to become happy, healthy, valued members of the community, fully equipped to access employment and achieve their aspirations.

Our Mission

Is to give young people the tools they need for life, work and a better future.

We achieve our mission by giving young people a voice so they can influence the world around them, creating innovative and inspiring national programmes, and supporting the youth development organisations in our membership. We believe in co-creating programmes with young people and delivering them in partnership with both community-based and targeted youth organisations.

What we stand for:

  • Value
  • Quality

About UK Youth

Avon Tyrrell is home to the UK Youth National Charity and the work that we do in the New Forest is only a small part of the wider work of the charity and the opportunities we provide for young people.

We have continual support for the work that we do across the charity and it is because of our volunteers that we are able to maintain and improve the incredible facilities that we have for young people here at Avon Tyrrell.
