UK Youth are delighted to have been selected as the delivery partner for the second phase of the Adventures Away from Home Fund (AAfH). In partnership with Department for Culture, Media and Sport, the new £1.5m fund aims to provide 8,500 young people.

Vic joined in the team in 2018 as an apprentice with aspirations of a career in the Police but knowing she needed to increase her skills and experience so she joined us to learn and develop.

Two of our Outdoor Learning team joined the Adventure for All Professional Practice Group on Saturday 3 December for a weekend with other specialist providers of outdoor learning for people with a disability or those with an interest in making adventures accessible for all.

2022 and the start of 2023 have been a busy time for our outdoor learning apprentices and we want to let you know everything that they've been up to, congratulate their acheivements and inform you on what is coming up.

On Monday 12th February, 7 youth groups joined us at Avon Tyrrell Outdoor Centre for a leadership residential generously funded by PwC.
Throughout March - May 2022 we saw 233 enjoy a three day residential as part of the fully funded programme. The aim of the programme used outdoor learning to develop young peoples general understanding of risk and specifically the dangers associated with railways.

Our Dulverton programme gave 107 young people the opportunity to positively engage with Outdoor Learning at Avon Tyrrell, helping support their personal development and create a cohesive support network.

Every year our volunteers make an immeasurable impact- as part of Volunteer’s Week we wanted to say thank you to them all.

Super 1s Residential supports over 30 young people from hubs across Bexley, Hackney, Hampshire and Sussex with a range of disabilities and allows them to have the opportunity to stay away from home and socialise with new people through sport.
