Whether you are climbing up, or abseiling down our Climbing Tower, this is a challenge for anyone and really pushes you to your limits.
Our climbing and Abseiling tower is 10 metre high and offers something for everyone, so whether it’s your first time, or you have previous experience, you will gain a great sense of achievement.
Climbing: With Climbing 3 sides and 6 structured routes our climbing tower offer opportunities for development as you challenge yourself to your own level. Routes for beginners provide more holds and the more advanced routes include an overhang so everyone can achieve something amazing.
Abseiling: Experience the thrill of an abseil, lean back over the edge and descend the tower, once you relax you can also take in phenomenal views of Avon Tyrrell.
Both climbing and abseiling sessions are led by our qualified instructors who ensure sessions are safe, challenging and fun and ensure you have the support you need to push yourselves.
Duration: Climbing and Abseiling are both 90 minutes each session.
Ratios: 8:1 (Maximum of 8 Participants per Instructor)
Groups running at one time: Multiple groups from the same party can be booked at the same time
Restrictions:
- Our maximum weight limit for this activity is 16 stone.
- Our minimum age for this activity is 8 years+
Recommendations:
- Closed toe shoes are a must for this activity
- Comfortable clothing suitable for the weather conditions

Skill: By using participants to belay each other (overseen by an instructor) this promotes skill acquisition and cooperation and ensures that all individuals however confident have a role to play in the success of the group.
Personal Challenge & Achievement: Individuals receive high levels of encouragement from our experienced instructors, so that they have the opportunity achieve their goals and understand more about themselves and their own personal state management.
Support & Cohesion: By taking part in a shared experience, climbing and abseiling can improve group and leader familiarisation as individuals work closely together. Individuals are also encouraged to support one another both verbally and physically, so individuals can challenge themselves to their personal limits.
Fitness & Wellbeing: This activity by the nature of its physicality and location promotes an appreciation of the benefits of the outdoors for wellbeing and fitness.
When incorporated as part of a development programme of activities, outdoor learning such as climbing and abseiling can support increased attainment and develop character and soft skills all of which are key life skills. Individuals will be able to recognise their own achievements and individual progression, as well as have the opportunity to develop personal qualities such as self-reliance, perseverance, self-belief and increased levels of confidence.
