Outdoor Learning in the New Forest

Outdoor education has long been recognised as an important contributor in a young persons’ physical, personal and social development.

As a Learning Outside the Classroom (LOtC) badge holder, we provide a platform to Outdoor Learning where our highly qualified staff provide the support you need to meet, and exceed, the expectations of your students. LOtC is a powerful tool proven to raise attainment, increase social emotional and personal development, as well as contributing to the health and wellbeing of young people.

We provide opportunities for all young people to experience the world beyond the classroom. All of our sessions can be delivered in line with the National Curriculum - so your students can have fun and get engaged with outdoor learning, whether searching for mini beasts, climbing up our tower or as they zip wire across the lake!

Each individual is challenged and stretched by our qualified instructors, as they work towards increasing initiative, commitment, personal responsibility and self-motivation. All of our activities are run with a personal development approach and 'Challenge by Choice' means that sessions are voluntary and individuals will not be forced to take part in any activities. Our instructors ensure that every child works within their own personal ability levels and are encouraged to challenge themselves appropriately.

It is these experiences that enable them to get involved, grow and learn, give back and gain independence.

Key stage 1 and 2 students are at an age where Outdoor Learning opportunities can shape their view of the world around them. Our aim is to educate children through our activities, linking adventure and discovery to the National Curriculum. Children learn quickly in such an engaging and challenge driven environment, building character and progressing in a surprisingly short time when given new opportunities.

At KS1 and KS2, we encourage young people to explore the world around them, develop a growth mindset and feel confident in themselves and their abilities. English and Maths are a embedded within all our sessions, with Field Studies covering a wide range of subject content such as Science, Art and Geography. For further information on how our sessions link directly to the National Curriculum, please see the documents below:
